We will make Rewa a medical hub by expanding medical facilities: Deputy Chief Minister Shukla

Rewa, June 29 (HS). Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla inaugurated a free cancer screening camp at Government Girls College Rewa on Saturday. On this occasion, he said that cancer is a very fatal disease, but it can be completely prevented if detected on time. For this, every person should get his health checked regularly. Prevention of every serious disease is possible by getting regular health checkups. Along with this, we also get to know about the deficiency of various vitamins and other nutrients, which we can overcome to stay healthy. Health facilities are developing rapidly in Rewa. A new cancer unit is being constructed in the medical college. In which very modern machines will be installed soon at a cost of Rs 32 crore. Rewa will be developed as a medical hub. This will not only treat the patients of Vindhya region but serious patients from the surrounding areas will also come here for treatment.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that the government is constantly concerned about the health of the general public. The Chief Minister has recently started PM Shri Air Ambulance Service. The first patient to benefit from this service was from Rewa. Heart patient Govindlal Tiwari was airlifted from here to Bhopal and given treatment facilities. This entire arrangement has been made free of cost. Taking advantage of the government schemes, now even the poor are going by plane and getting their treatment. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the National Hospital and the District Red Cross Committee have done a very commendable job by organizing a free cancer check-up camp in the Government Girls College. Free health check-up facility has been provided to the girl students and working women here. If cancer is identified on time, then its complete treatment is possible. The situation becomes serious only when there is a delay in its identification. A few months ago, arrangements were made for free check-up of one lakh people of the entire division in Rewa. In which 136 cancer patients were found after the examination. They are being provided proper treatment.

In the program, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla honored District Red Cross Committee President Dr. Prabhakar Chaturvedi, National Hospital Director Dr. Akhilesh Patel, Dr. Pooja Gangwar Patel and Dr. Yogesh Shukla, cancer specialist by giving them mementos.
