Prayagraj, 30 October (HIST). The city's Diwali will be completed only by lighting a lamp at Shaheedwall. Prayagraj is a pilgrimage site, where the glorious story of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom is inscribed. These sacrifices were made so that we can celebrate Diwali by lighting lamps freely. I feel proud to light the lamp here today.
Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary said these things while celebrating Independence Day Diwali with freedom seekers at Shaheed Wall on Wednesday. He paid tribute to the martyrs by lighting a lamp and said that the society should not forget its history and the pride of its ancestors. All those who attained martyrdom here are our ancestors, symbols of our pride and identity. I will do whatever I can for Shaheedwal.
Under the auspices of Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata, an illumination on the Shaheed Wall, Diwali was celebrated with the freedom seekers in the name of the martyrs. Shaheedwal's founder Virendra Pathak told that during the era of slavery, the entry of Indians and dogs was prohibited here. After 1857, the British built a civil station on eight villages of the revolutionaries. Where only the British could come. Indians and dogs can never come here. In such a situation, it is a matter of pride to celebrate Independence Diwali by lighting a lamp with the freedom-seeking martyrs at this very place.
