Godda, September 21 (HS). The announcement of the operation of the newly built engineering college in Chatra village of Podaiyahat has created a wave of happiness in the area. Congress workers and local people celebrated this success by bursting crackers, distributing sweets and raising slogans at the main square of Podaiyahat. The operation of this college was made possible due to the initiative of regional MLA Pradeep Yadav, for which he had been trying for years.

When MLA Pradeep Yadav reached Chatra village during his tour of the area, the villagers warmly welcomed him by playing Mandar and Tamak. He said that with the operation of this college, the children of the area will not have to go out for higher education. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people in the surrounding villages—Chatra, Murgabani, Satpahari, Amdumma, Barmasiya, Dulidih, Bhatondha, Raghunathpur—because the students of the area will benefit a lot from the opening of this college.

Meanwhile, the Jharkhand government has sanctioned Rs 39.51 crore for a degree college in Saraiyahat. Poor students of Saraiyahat and nearby villages will now be able to get higher education from this degree college. He said that till now the students here had to go 50 km away to Deoghar, Dumka or Godda for higher education, but with the opening of this college this problem will end. Especially poor, Dalit and tribal children will get direct benefit from this.

The MLA said that this decision of the state government will lead to the development of the region and the people here should express their gratitude to the coalition government including Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Also, Rs 38.27 crore has been approved for the construction of a road from Saraiyahat to Sumeshwarnath temple, which will further strengthen the infrastructure in the region.
