Waterlogging at Balchanda Chowk on Kursakanta Sundari road, villagers stage protest

Araria, 29 June (HS). Villagers troubled by waterlogging for a fortnight near Balchanda Chowk on Kursakanta Sundari Marg of the district staged an angry protest on Saturday.

Panchayat Samiti member representative Mohammad Kaushar Alam, who was present at the waterlogging site, said that the families living on government land along the road have deposited mud on the roadside. Due to which water is not draining. As a result, due to knee-deep water on the road, vehicle drivers have to face a lot of trouble as Kursakanta Sundari is the main road.

Villagers said that even before this, the villagers had informed the zonal officer about the waterlogging. The CO reached the waterlogging site and got the water drained out. But after the officer left, the families living on the roadside once again closed the water drainage site.

The CT-rickshaw drivers involved in the protest said that dozens of CT-rickshaws broke down due to the waterlogging. Here, due to the protest over waterlogging on the main road, traffic was disrupted for nearly four hours, due to which dozens of vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road. Dozens of people including Mo Insul, Chandan Bhagat, Ashok Paswan, Mukesh Tatma, Sunil Mahato, Gulabchand Das, Amit Rai, Pradeep Sharma, Ravindra Rai, Nitish Rai, Arjun Paswan, Mo Majbool, Arif Mohammad, Bablu Sah, Mo Mujahid, Tanveer Alam, Mo Nizam, Mo Rabban, who were involved in the protest, have demanded immediate and permanent solution from the District Officer to free the main road from waterlogging.
