There is a long queue of women for water in the morning and evening. Villagers going through drinking water crisis have reached the collectorate and requested for solution to the drinking water crisis and bore pump mining. Despite being close to Gangrel Dam, villagers are yearning for water, this is a matter of great concern.
Mohlai Sarpanch Hemlata Netam, villagers Santoshi Bai, Madhu Netam, Raisingh, Jileram, Nand Kumar, Mannuram, Dayaluram, Gayaram, Faguram, Bimla Bai, Khemlata, Uttara Bai, Lakshmi etc. villagers reached the Collectorate on 13 May. In the memorandum submitted to the Collector, the villagers have said that the drinking water crisis has started in the village since the beginning of the month of May. Despite being on the banks of Gangrel Dam, the ground water level of the village has gone down. The village has the only bore for drinking water, which has dried up due to the heat. Water comes intermittently. At the same time, other bores installed in the fields and barns of the farmers have also responded. This has increased the problems of the villagers.
The villagers told that during the scorching heat they have to wander for every bucket of water, while the month of June is still left in the summer. He has demanded the Collector to provide drinking water by laying additional pipes in the bore of the village. After listening to their views, the officer has assured appropriate action. The villagers have demanded from the district administration to dig a new bore to deal with the drinking water problem in Mohlai. If a new bore is dug in the village then their drinking water and disposal needs can be met.
