New Delhi : Actor Gurucharan Singh, who played the character of 'Sodhi' in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' for years, has been missing for the last few days. A few days ago, his father had lodged a complaint, after which the police registered a case of kidnapping and started searching for the actor.
According to reports, Gurucharan was to leave for Mumbai by Delhi flight but he did not reach the airport. It was also claimed in many media reports that the actor who played the character of 'Sodhi' in Taarak Mehta was suffering from depression for some time. Recently, his onscreen son 'Junior Sodhi' aka Samay Shah expressed concern over his disappearance and also revealed when the two last met.
When did Guru Charan last meet 'Junior Sodhi'
Let us tell you that Samay Shah had played the role of Gurucharan Singh's son in Asit Modi's show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' for many years. Samya said that Gurucharan was like a father to her. In an exclusive conversation with Indian Express, Samay Shah told when was his last conversation with Gurucharan.
Sodhi, junior to Taarak Mehta, said, 'I spoke to him on phone 4-5 months ago. During this, we talked for more than an hour and he encouraged me. We used to talk about dreams. The last time we met was at the reception of Dilip Joshi's son, after that we did not meet but he told me that he would meet soon.
Was Gurucharan Singh really a victim of depression?
It was being said that Gurcharan Singh was going through depression, to which Samay Shah responded by saying that when we spoke, he was happy. I still can't believe that people are saying he was depressed. He was not that kind of person but you have to understand what is going on in a person's mind. This cannot be predicted. Sometimes we talk, he was very nice and always took care of me, I don't think he was ever sad, I was like his son.

Samay Shah also told that at present he is not in contact with anyone in Gurucharan's family. Junior Sodhi said that he misses Gurucharan Singh a lot as they have worked together for so many years. Reminiscing old memories, Samay Shah said, “When I was very young, he used to let me eat 'khatta-meetha' and would also kiss my cheeks. He also used to play with me, he liked children very much. Whenever we were together, there were children with us. Let us tell you that during the investigation, the police came to know that Gurucharan was last seen withdrawing money from the ATM.
