The protesters have also demanded that beef dishes be compulsorily included in restaurant menus and hotels of those failing to do so should be closed. According to media reports, conference coordinator Mohammad Arif Al Khabir told the Dhaka Tribune that beef serves as a symbol of Islamic identity.
