War between Israel and Hamas will stop by next Monday: Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden has expressed hope that a ceasefire will be declared by next Monday in the war that has been going on for more than five months between Israel and Hamas.

Responding to a question about the ceasefire, he said that Israel and Hamas are close to a ceasefire and as per the information given to me by my national security advisors, the ceasefire will be announced by next Monday. However, a complete decision is yet to be taken as some issues are still to be discussed.

A day earlier, National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan had said that representatives of Israel-US and Egypt as well as Qatar met in Paris and meanwhile all the sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire in exchange for the release of people held hostage by Hamas.

It is noteworthy that members of the Israeli delegation, including Mossad Director David Barnia, had talked to US intelligence agency CIA Director Bill Burns as well as representatives of Egypt and Qatar.

It is said that representatives of Israel and Hamas do not talk to each other directly and that Qatar and Egypt mediate on their behalf. Hamas was informed about this after the meeting in Paris.

On October 7 last year, after the death of about 1200 people in the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas by entering Israel, Israel had started a war against Hamas and this war is still going on. In which thousands of innocent civilians have died. 85 percent of Gaza's people have been displaced.
