Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday pledged to get the Waqf Amendment Bill passed during the winter session later this year and said those opposing it will be “straightened out” once the law is enacted. Addressing rallies in Badshahpur and Indri constituencies in poll-bound Haryana, Shah stepped up his attack on the Congress and alleged that the guarantees given by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have failed in states like Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka.

Addressing an election rally in Badshahpur, Gurugram, Shah said that Congress makes big promises during elections, but it has failed to fulfill its election promises in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. “Rahul Gandhi’s guarantee has failed,” Shah said.

At the same time, Union Home Minister Shah said that BJP does not make any promise which cannot be fulfilled. “Rahul Baba and Company cannot bring development and only a ‘double engine’ government will ensure development in Haryana,” he said. “We will secure the country's borders, protect reservations and will never allow Article 370 to come back,” he said.

Referring to the Waqf Bill, Shah said at the rally, “You have a problem with the existing law on the Waqf Board… We will amend it in the winter session of Parliament.”

Last month, several opposition leaders had alleged that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's Waqf Amendment Bill was aimed at creating division in the society and said they would strongly oppose it.

Every 10th soldier in the army is from Haryana: Amit Shah

Campaigning for party candidates in the Gurugram region, including Rao Narbir Singh from Badshahpur, Shah said every 10th soldier in the army comes from Haryana.

Union Home Minister Shah said that from Indira Gandhi to Manmohan Singh, Congress did not fulfill the demand of One Rank One Pension and Narendra Modi government gave One Rank One Pension in 2015.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi over the Agneepath scheme, Shah called Rahul Gandhi a 'lie machine' and alleged that the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha has claimed that Agniveers will not get jobs.

After five years every Agniveer will have a job with pension!

He said that Agniveer Yojana has been started to keep the armed forces young. Amidst Congress's continuous attack on BJP on this issue, Shah said in the public meeting, “Don't hesitate in sending your children to the army. Haryana and Central Government will provide pensionable job to every Agniveer. After five years you will not find a single Agniveer who is deprived of a pensionable job.”

On Navratri starting from October 3, Shah said, “While voting on October 5, you have to answer to Rahul Baba and his party Congress as to who insults 'Shakti'.”

He alleged that Congress has become blind in appeasement.

Earlier there used to be development of one caste and one district: Home Minister

Taking aim at the Bhupendra Singh Hooda government, he said that the previous Congress governments used to develop one caste and one district. Shah said that the people of Haryana elected the BJP government in 2014 and there has been similar development in the last 10 years.

Without naming anyone, Shah alleged, “During the Hooda government, there was rule of dealers, brokers and son-in-laws and corruption was at its peak. “Many acres of land was destroyed in Gurugram to make the sons-in-law of Delhi rich.”

Five lakh jobs in five years

Union Home Minister Shah said, Hooda Saheb, your people are ready even today. I saw on WhatsApp that a candidate of your party is saying that make him MLA and he will give 50 jobs to each of his supporters. How will he do that? Is there any rule or not? Whenever Congress comes to power, jobs are given on “spend and slip” basis, whereas the BJP government has given 1.5 lakh jobs purely on merit basis.” He said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains in power in Haryana, 5 lakh jobs will be given to the youth in five years purely on the basis of merit. Shah alleged that slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' were raised in Congress rallies from Hathin to Thanesar and Thanesar to Palwal. He said, “I want to ask Rahul Baba that when your party leaders and workers are raising slogans of Pakistan Zindabad, why are you silent? Why don't you stop them? Congress has become blind in appeasement.”

On the issue of Article 370, Shah alleged that Congress wants to re-implement it in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Kashmir is our own and as long as the Modi government is there, only the tricolor will wave there.”

“The brave soldiers of Haryana have made many sacrifices for the security of Kashmir and we will not let it go in vain,” Shah said at the rally.

24 crops will be purchased at MSP

Senior BJP leader Shah alleged that when Congress was in power in Haryana, they used to procure only wheat and paddy at minimum support price (MSP), while the BJP government has decided that 24 crops will be procured at MSP. .

He also talked about the significant increase in MSP of various crops during the BJP government.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi's recent comment on reservation, Shah said that as long as the BJP is there, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Castes (SC) will not let the party touch reservations.

Shah said, “The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government gave Rs 41,000 crore to Haryana between 2004 and 2014, while the Modi government gave Rs 2.92 lakh crore between 2014 to 2024.

Voting for the 90-member Haryana Assembly will take place on October 5 and the results will be declared on October 8.
