ITR Filing 2024: It is important for everyone to file their Income Tax Return (ITR) but the process is not complete until you verify it. In such a situation, the Income Tax Department has found many ways to solve this problem, it is worth noting that this method is convenient and very easy. These methods include both online and offline verification available in India. Let's know about them.
Aadhaar OTP Verification
This is the easiest option for this verification. You need to link your PAN, acknowledgement number and Aadhaar number to the registered mobile phone. The e-filing portal will send a permanent OTP to your phone for verification. Always keep your Aadhaar OTP private and also update your mobile number linked to Aadhaar if required.
Electronic Verification Code (EVC)
This process requires registering as a taxpayer on the e-filing portal and having a pre-verified bank or demat account.
-You can easily generate EVC by logging into the portal and selecting “Generate EVC” in Services and selecting your preferred account and verifying your PAN details.
-EVC will be sent to your registered mobile number and email.
-Use EVC to verify your ITR on the e-filing portal within 72 hours.
Offline Verification
-Download the pre-filled ITRV form after filing your ITR online.
-Now print it, sign in blue ink (make sure the barcode and number are visible).
Mail it to the specified Income Tax Department address in Bengaluru within 120 days of filing. The process is a bit slow and frustrating due to delays in updates.
