Walmart Marketplace launches dedicated landing page for Indian sellers

Jaipur, 17 April (HS). Walmart announced the launch of a dedicated landing page for Indian sellers on the company's marketplace website Walmart.com. Through this they will be able to register and sell on the site. Walmart also organized the first Global Seller Summit in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Wednesday, starting the series of conferences at the regional level.

These conferences will help potential sellers by providing them with insights and information on consumer and category trends and assist with onboarding support and catalog setup. There are plans to organize global vendor conferences across the country throughout the year.

Walmart Marketplace was opened to Indian sellers in 2021. There are currently thousands of SKUs of products made, developed or assembled in India on this marketplace. Walmart's US marketplace is the world's fastest growing e-commerce platform. Its revenue grew 45 percent last fiscal year, while Walmart's sales grew 20 percent.

Walmart doesn't charge new sellers any monthly fees or setup fees. Earlier this year, the company announced a new Seller Savings Program, which offers participants up to 50 percent off referral and Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) fees for the first 90 days on Walmart.com. WFS provides sellers with a convenient and cost-effective solution to bring their inventory closer to US customers.

Michelle Mee, Vice President, Emerging Markets and Business Development, Walmart, said, “India is a priority market for Walmart and launching a dedicated landing page is a testament to our commitment to Indian sellers. Walmart Marketplace strives to unlock the potential of Indian companies by providing sellers access to customers around the world. “Through dedicated onboarding support and our expertise in navigating the global supply chain, we empower sellers with the tools they need to thrive in the US and other marketplaces.”

Currently, Indian sellers in the US marketplace can list inventory across categories including home textiles, bath, home decor, clothing, jewellery, toys and cosmetics with complete control over pricing. The company aims to engage Indian manufacturers and brand owners across categories on its marketplace and create value for millions of customers.

Selling on Walmart.com helps companies create digital supply chains, while also helping them navigate export processes and understand the preferences of American consumers. Indian sellers can apply to Walmart Marketplace by clicking here.
