News India Live, Digital Desk: There is a disappointing news for the people waiting for the country’s first semi-high speed sleeper train, Vande Bharat Sleeper. Despite the first rake of the train being ready, its launch may be further delayed. The Railway Board has raised many serious issues regarding the finishing of the interior of the train i.e. decoration and furniture, after which its commercial run has been stopped for the time being.
After all, what did the Railway Board not like?
The Railway Board, in a letter sent to the Research, Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) and all railway zones, has mentioned several flaws inside the train. The main concerns raised are as follows:
Board gave strict instructions for improvement
Giving priority to the safety and comfort of passengers, the Railway Board has termed these flaws as unacceptable. The Board has directed that all these problems in the existing rakes should be rectified immediately. Along with this, necessary changes have also been made in the design of all Vande Bharat sleeper trains to be built in future, so that such mistakes are not repeated again.
The matter has come to light after the Research, Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) submitted its compliance report on September 1, 2025. Earlier, the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) had also expressed similar concerns during the trial. Only after the completion of these reforms will it be decided when the countrymen will be able to enjoy the journey in this modern and comfortable sleeper train.
