Voting is our right as well as duty: District Magistrate

Hardoi, 13 April (HS). Under the sweep activities of Lok Sabha General Election 2024, an awareness seminar of entrepreneurs, businessmen and medical store brothers was organized under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Mangala Prasad Singh at Gandhi Bhawan on Saturday.

In a seminar organized with the courtesy of the Food and Drug Administration, the District Magistrate said that everyone must vote for themselves and their families, because voting is both our right and our duty. Taking the low turnout in the previous elections seriously, all of us should resolve to bring the district to the top in voting. He said that efforts have been made to improve the voter list of the district. Gender ratio and EP ratio have increased. Booths dedicated to women, youth and disabled people are being made. All booths are being made model booths. Polling stations are being decorated. Everyone must go to vote on 13th May, because one plus one makes eleven.

He said that voter identity slips will be delivered to all the people by May 7. A voter guide will also be delivered to each family. The District Magistrate administered the oath of voter awareness to all the businessmen.

Superintendent of Police Keshav Chandra Goswami said that everyone should vote and bring the district to the top in voting percentage. Chief Development Officer Soumya Gururani said that all sections are being included in the awareness programs. All businessmen should spread the message of voter awareness to the people. Explaining about the QR code, he said that through the Voter Helpline App we can check our name in the voter list.

He said that everyone should download the Sea Vigil app in their mobile. Complaints about violation of code of conduct can be made on this app through audio and video. Through KYC app we can know about our candidate. Sweep in-charge Deputy Director Agriculture said that everyone should vote one for the country. In the programme, various businessmen expressed their views regarding voter awareness. The District Magistrate launched a pamphlet and calendar related to voter awareness. Anusha Trivedi enthralled everyone by singing the song Sweep. After the seminar, the District Magistrate flagged off the rally organized by entrepreneurs, businessmen and medical store brothers from the Gandhi Bhavan premises.

On this occasion, Assistant Director Food Safety Satish Kumar, District Information Officer Santosh Kumar, Additional District Information Officer Divya Nigam and Drug Inspector Swagatika Ghosh etc. were present.
