Voting continues on 58 seats in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, the fate of the candidates will be captured in EVM

Voting has started at 7 am in 58 seats of 7 states and 1 union territory in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Before voting, leader Atishi claimed that Delhi LG has instructed the police to slow down the voting so that people do not face problems in voting. On the other hand, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri voted in Delhi. Apart from this, Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini also cast his vote.

Voting has started on 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. Voting will continue till 6 pm. All the voters who are in line till 6 pm will get a chance to vote. There are 2 crore 76 thousand 768 voters in the state. There are 223 candidates on 10 seats, including a former CM and 2 Union Ministers whose fate will also be sealed in EVMs. Haryana Chief Election Officer Anurag Agarwal said that a total of 20,031 polling stations have been set up in the state. These include 19812 permanent and 219 temporary polling stations.

5470 polling stations have been set up in urban areas and 14342 in rural areas. He said that 176 model polling stations have been set up. There are 99 polling stations which will be operated completely by women employees. Apart from this, young employees have been deployed on duty at 96 polling stations and Divyang employees at 71 polling stations in Haryana.

East Delhi MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has also cast his vote. He said that voting in large numbers is necessary to strengthen democracy. Elections were to be held in the third phase in Anantnag-Rajouri seat of Jammu and Kashmir, but it was postponed, now voting is taking place in the sixth phase.

In this phase, 3 Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Krishan Pal Singh Gurjar and Rao Indrajit Singh are in the fray. 3 former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti, Manohar Lal Khattar and Jagdambika Pal are also contesting the elections. Apart from this, Manoj Tiwari, Maneka Gandhi, Naveen Jindal, Bansuri Swaraj, Sambit Patra, Raj Babbar, Nirahua are trying their luck. According to the Election Commission, 889 candidates are contesting in the sixth phase of elections. Among them, 797 are male and 92 are female candidates.
