Gurugram, 27 April (Hindustan Reporter). Haryana Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad on Saturday inaugurated the Voter Park built in collaboration with CSR Trust in the Vikas Sadan complex here. The Chief Secretary praised the material displayed in this park related to voting and Lok Sabha elections. He said that such activities will be conducted in other districts of the state also. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary along with Gurugram Division Commissioner R.C. Bidhan, DC Nishant Kumar Yadav and ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena were also present.
First of all, information about EVM machine and VVPAT was given to the Chief Secretary at the booth set up in Voter Park. After voting from the ballot unit, he also took out the slip from the VVPAT machine. Detailed reading material about the country's democratic system and Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency has been installed in the Voter Park. It was told that the first elections were conducted between October 1951 and February 1952 and at that time the Chief Election Commissioner of the country was Sukumar Sen. There was 45.7 percent voting in this election. The history of EVM machine was also told in the park. This machine was used in the Kerala elections in the year 1982. Later in the year 2004, elections were conducted with EVMs across the country. In the Voter Park, pictorial material regarding the sweep activities being conducted in the district has been displayed. The Chief Secretary got himself photographed with a slogan placard in his hand at the selfie point made here. For the sweep campaign, the Chief Secretary released balloons in the air and gave a message to all the citizens to vote. After this, he encouraged the district administration by writing 'Sweep Weldon' with paint on the wall.
Brand ambassadors, famous singers MD Desi and Naveen Poonia presented
Famous singers MD Desi and Naveen Poonia, who were appointed brand ambassadors for the Gurugram Lok Sabha elections, gave a passionate rendition of the sweep anthem 'Vote Karo..Vote Karo..' composed for Gurugram. Two other brand ambassadors, young chess player Tanishka Kotia and senior citizen Subhash Bishroi, who travels long distances on a bicycle, were honored by the Chief Secretary by presenting them sweep cups. He administered an oath to the citizens and players present to vote in maximum numbers on May 25. ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena thanked the Chief Secretary on his arrival at Voter Park.
