Prayagraj, March 14 (HS). District Election Officer Navneet Singh Chahal has said that as per the latest guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the facility of postal ballot has been made available to voters above 85 years of age to vote.
He said that voters above 85 years of age can voluntarily exercise their franchise at their residence by applying in prescribed Form-12D for voting at their residence through postal ballot. He said that within 5 days of the issuance of the above mentioned Form-12D notification, the BLO of the concerned Assembly Constituency will go door-to-door and make it available to the voters above the age of 85 years and the filled Form-12D will be collected. The form is available on the home page of the Election Commission of India website www.eci.gov.in under the menu at the link 'Candidate Nomination and Other Forms'. From where it will be downloaded, filled and submitted to the office of the Returning Officer of the concerned constituency.
