Vote for strong democracy of the country: Director

Kanpur, 22 April (HS). Seeing the low voting percentage in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, the District Election Department is making various efforts to increase the voting percentage. In this series, oath of voting was administered on Monday in the country's only National Sugar Institute.

On this occasion, Director Prof. Swain said that to strengthen the country, one should leave all work and vote first. Women were especially told that now the old times are no more and women walk shoulder to shoulder with men. Therefore, do vote in the national elections.

At the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, an oath taking program was organized for the students studying in various courses of the institute, working employees and officers to exercise their voting rights. The people present at the oath taking program took a pledge to vote. A slogan competition was also organized under the voter awareness programme, in which students studying in various courses of the institute, working employees and officers etc. participated enthusiastically. The participants who wrote selected slogans were honored with prizes.

Director of the institute, Prof.D. Swain said that the festival of elections is the pride of the country. On this occasion, while giving oath to all the employees and students to vote as much as possible, he said that we should use our voting right without any pressure and select the candidate with discretion. Voting is very important for a strong democracy in the country.

Biochemistry Section Head Prof. Seema Paroha said that now is the time when women did not exercise their vote. The woman is now awake, she is walking shoulder to shoulder with the man. Therefore, it is mandatory for all of you to vote. All of you take a pledge that first voting, then refreshments. During this, Shailendra Kumar Trivedi, Ashok Kumar Garg, Anoop Kumar Kanojia, Dr. Anant Lakshmi, Brijesh Kumar Sahu etc. were present.
