Stock Market Today: The Indian stock market is trading with a decline again today after registering an attractive recovery yesterday. After a flat start with volatility increasing, the Sensex fell by 570.09 points. However, Nifty has maintained the level of 24000 amid negative conditions. On the other hand, the rupee also closed at its highest level against the dollar yesterday.
At 10.52 am, Sensex was down 296.37 points at 79171 and Nifty was down 85.70 points at 24211.80. In Nifty 50, 37 stocks were down and 13 stocks were up. Out of 3722 stocks on BSE, 2051 stocks were up and 1514 stocks were down. Upper circuit was applied on 193 stocks and lower circuit was applied on 186 stocks.
RBI's monetary policy has kept interest rates unchanged for the ninth consecutive time. Price stability is essential for sustainable development along with rising inflation. In view of the challenges at the global level, it has been decided to keep the interest rates unchanged for the time being.
Rupee improves by 2 paise
This morning, the rupee opened 2 paise higher at 83.94 against the dollar. It was at a record low of 83.96 yesterday. Bond yields saw a rise after the policy announcement. Today the dollar index is trading lower at 103.06.
