71 year old Vladimir Putin has achieved a record victory in the Russian presidential elections. With this he has become the President of Russia for the fifth time. According to the Central Election Commission, Putin has received 87 percent votes so far. This is when the counting of votes has been completed in only 60 percent of the assembly constituencies. This is being considered the biggest victory in the history of Soviet Russia. According to the Commission, 74.22 percent voting took place, which is 6.72 percent more than in 2018.
Nikolai Kharitonov finished second
Nikolai Kharitonov stood second. He got 3.86 percent votes. Similarly, Vladislav Davankov is at third place with 3.76 percent votes and Leonid Slutsky is at fourth place with 2.97 percent votes. These four candidates were contesting the elections. Putin has easily secured his next six-year term. After this he has gone ahead of even Joseph Stalin. Putin would become the longest-serving leader in Russia's more than 200-year history.
Putin threatens the West
After the landslide victory, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West. He said a direct conflict between Russia and the US-led NATO military alliance would mean the Earth is one step away from World War III. But hardly anyone would want this.
The Ukraine war has caused the deepest crisis in Moscow's relations with the West since the 1962 Cuban missile crisis. Putin has repeatedly warned of the dangers of nuclear war. However, he clarified that there is no need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
French President's statement was mocked
French President Emmanuel Macron said last month that he could not rule out the deployment of ground troops to Ukraine in the future. Many western countries have distanced themselves from it. While others, particularly in Eastern Europe, have expressed support. Putin quipped when asked by Reuters about Macron's comments and the risk and likelihood of conflict between Russia and NATO. He said that everything is possible in the modern world.
Putin said that NATO troops are already present in Ukraine. The Russians learned both English and French on the battlefield. There is nothing good in Ukraine. Because a lot of people are dying there.
Russia will create buffer zone in Ukraine
Presidential elections were held in Russia between 15 and 17 March. Meanwhile, Ukraine has intensified attacks against Russia. Opened fire in border areas and also used camouflage weapons to try to infiltrate into Russian borders.
When he was asked whether he wanted to occupy Kharkiv region of Ukraine? Putin said Russia would create a buffer zone through Ukrainian territory to protect Russian territory if the attacks continued.
We are in favor of peace, but…
Putin ordered an attack on Ukraine in February 2022. Putin said he wanted Macron to stop trying to escalate the war in Ukraine. Play a role in establishing peace. France can play an important role in this direction. All is not over yet. I've said it many times and I'll say it again. We are in favor of peace talks, but not just because the enemy is running out of bullets.
strike back at america
Putin also rejected US criticism of the election. Putin said the US elections were not democratic and criticized the use of state power against Donald Trump. The whole world is laughing at what Putin said. In fact, America had described the Russian presidential election as undemocratic.
