Omkareshwar temple located in the middle of Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh, India is a very special pilgrimage site for the devotees of Lord Shiva. It is said that in this temple, Mahadev plays Chaupat with Mata Parvati every day. This is the reason why 'Chopat' is spread here at night and then everyone is taken out of the market and locked. But in the morning when the doors of the temple were opened, Chausar and his face were found scattered. Devotees visit this temple during Shivaratri and the month of Sawan.
The nearest airport to Omkareshwar is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore. This airport is well connected to major cities of India. After landing at Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport, a taxi can be hired to reach Omkareshwar. The airport is about 80 km away from the temple. In such a situation, it takes about 2 hours to reach here.
