New Delhi, 24 October (Hindustan Reporter). Vishwajit More secured India's first medal by winning a bronze in the men's 55kg Greco-Roman category at the Under-23 Wrestling World Championships 2024 in Tirana, Albania on Wednesday.
He defeated Adam Ulbashev with a score of 14-10 in a thrilling match. This achievement is India's first medal in this championship. Ali Abdullah Ahmadi Wafa defeated Rashad Mammadov 11–3 to win the gold medal, while Kohel Yamagiwa shared the bronze medal with Morey.
Despite an early lead, More lost to Wafa 5-14 in the semi-finals. Earlier, Anjali entered the final in the women's 59kg category by winning against Italy's Aurora Russo with a score of 4-0. Anjali will face Solimia Vinnik of Ukraine in the final.
