Meerut, 17 April (HS). Vishwa Hindu Parishad Meerut Mahanagar took out a grand procession in Meerut on Wednesday on the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. Flowers were showered at various places on the Shobha Yatra and people chanted Jai Shri Ram.
VHP's regional Dharma Prasar chief Yashpal flagged off the procession of Vishwa Hindu Parishad from Shri Balaji temple in Meerut Cantt by showing the saffron flag. After Maha Aarti, the procession went on a city tour. The procession was welcomed with shower of flowers at many places. This procession started from Shri Balaji Temple and returned to Shri Balaji Temple via Dewan Public School, Sadar Bazar, Abulen, Begumpul, Bhainsali Bus Stand, Bharat Mata Mandir, Sadar Bazar Police Station.
Keynote speaker VHP's regional Dharma Prasar head Yashpal said that this grand Ram Yatra has been taken out to present the ideals of Lord Shri Ram before the society. VHP wants to present before the society the character of Lord Shri Ram, on the strength of which King Ram became Maryada Purushottam Ram.
