Amid the ongoing controversy over offerings at Tirupati Balaji temple, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has demanded the formation of a national-level Sanatan Dharma Protection Board. In a post shared on social media, Pawan Kalyan wrote that a national-level Sanatan Dharma Protection Board should be formed to monitor religious matters across the country.

Pawan Kalyan wrote, We are all extremely upset that animal fat (fish oil, pork fat and beef fat) was found in Tirupati Balaji's prasad. The TTD board formed by the then YSRCP government had to answer many questions. Our government is committed to taking as strict action as possible, but this case highlights many issues related to the desecration of temples, land issues and other religious practices. Pawan Kalyan wrote that now the time has come that a Sanatan Dharma Raksha Board should be formed at the national level to look into all issues related to temples across India. This issue should be debated at the national level by all policy makers, religious leaders, judiciary, citizens, media and all others in their respective fields. I believe that we should all unite to prevent any kind of insult to Sanatan Dharma.
