Be it Chris Gayle’s 175 runs or Virat Kohli’s magical innings, this ground has seen everything from close quarters. But if recent news is to be believed, the RCB team has planned to shift some of its home matches out of Bengaluru in the year 2026.

Which are those two places?
After a lot of brainstorming, RCB management M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Along with this, two more venues have been included in their list. Although Chinnaswamy will remain their main stronghold, grounds in other parts of Karnataka or outside the state (like grounds near Hubli or Mangalore or any other big stadium) are now being considered to increase the fan base. Its purpose is to reach those fans who were able to see Virat only on TV.

What is the real reason for changing the venue?
It is often seen that many teams change their home base. There can be two-three big reasons behind this:

1. Increasing demand among fans: It becomes almost impossible to get IPL tickets in Bengaluru, so the team wants to expand its reach by holding matches in other cities.
2. Pitch and boundary issue: Chinnaswamy is a small ground, where the batsmen have success but the bowlers take a lot of beatings. Perhaps the team management is also looking for a ground which can provide some help to their bowling unit.
3. Pitch repair or renewal: Many times renovation work goes on in the stadium, due to which a backup venue is required.

What will change for Kohli fans?
The simple thing is that now Virat Kohli and his platoon will show their strength on new grounds. Even though everyone likes Chinnaswamy’s short boundaries and explosive sixes, it will be interesting to see how the team performs in the new environment. Fans reach every city anyway, so there is no doubt that RCB will get ‘Home Advantage’ everywhere.

Well, its complete schedule and names of cities are yet to be officially announced by the team management, but one thing is certain, RCB’s ‘game’ in IPL 2026 is going to be in a different and new style.
