Violent protests in Bangladesh: Violent protests have started once again in Bangladesh. Now there is protest against the removal of Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin from the post. The protest took place in front of Banga Bhawan, the President's residence in Dhaka at around 8.30 pm on Tuesday night.
Stones pelted at police, 5 protesters injured
The protesters tried to remove the police barricade. Army personnel tried to talk to the protesters to calm the situation but police said the protesters pelted stones at the police and eventually had to resort to lathicharge to stop them.
In which 5 protesters were injured and were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. When the crowd became violent, the police also released tear gas shells.
Why are protests taking place in Bangladesh?
Recently, Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin had given a statement that, 'I do not have any document which can prove that Sheikh Hasina had resigned from the post of Prime Minister before leaving Bangladesh on August 5.' After this statement of the President, a discussion has started in Bangladesh whether Sheikh Hasina is still constitutionally the PM of Bangladesh. People are protesting against this statement and demanding the resignation of the President.
