Vindhya Expressway: Expressway project gains momentum in Prayagraj! Survey of 84 villages intensified, know when land transfer will start


Work on Vindhya Expressway, another ambitious plan of the Yogi government to give new impetus to the development of Purvanchal and Vindhya region of Uttar Pradesh, is progressing rapidly. The process of survey, mapping and alignment for this 333 km long expressway to be built from Prayagraj to Sonbhadra via Bhadohi and Mirzapur is in the final stages. With the completion of this project, while travel time will be significantly reduced, new opportunities for tourism, trade and employment will be created in the entire region.

Expressway will pass through 84 villages of 3 tehsils of Prayagraj.

According to Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), this expressway connects three main tehsils of Prayagraj district. 84 villages Will pass through:

  • Soraon Tehsil: 29 villages

  • Phulpur Tehsil: 24 villages

  • Handiya Tehsil: 31 villages

Alignment of 45 villages finalized

The consultant agency constituted by UPEIDA is continuously completing the work of ground mapping and survey. In the first phase, the agency had submitted the proposal of 45 villages to the district administration.

During the administrative investigation, minor errors found in the Gata number, area and names of land owners in Soraon (14 villages), Phulpur (16 villages) and Handia (11 villages) i.e. a total of 31 villages have been rectified. Survey continues in 33 villages, work will be completed in 1 month

At present, under the second phase, a total of 6 villages of Soraon, 12 of Phulpur and 12 of Handia are included. Verification and survey work in 33 villages War is going on.

Once the reports of these 33 villages are ready, the process for a total of 78 villages will be completed. After this, only 6 Gram Panchayats will be left, for which the work will be completed as soon as a new proposal comes from UPEDA. According to administrative officials, this process of survey and verification will take about one to one and a half months to complete.

The process of land purchase and registration will start soon

As soon as the work of alignment and gata verification is 100% completed, UPEDA will start the official process of purchasing land from the affected farmers and landowners and getting the deeds done. For this, necessary guidelines have already been given to the Sub-District Magistrates (SDM) and Revenue Officers of Soraon, Phulpur and Handia tehsils.
