West Champaran (Bagaha), 23 October (H.I.). Rohua Tola in Ward No. 14 of Balgangwa village of Lakshmipur-Rampurva Panchayat of Valmiki Nagar police station area, about 2 kilometers east from Valmiki Nagar-Bagaha main road to SSB Rohua Tola Camp. Dozens of villagers staged a front to protest against the blackening of the constructed PCC road and created ruckus for hours on Wednesday.
*Villagers accused of irregularities*
Dozens of villagers of the village told that very thin blackening is being done in the road construction. There is lack of quality in work. The road will become completely dilapidated in just one rain. A very thin layer of corrosion is being applied on the previously constructed PCC road.
*Road construction board has not been installed at the work site*
The villagers alleged that no information board has been put up on the road being blackened, by which department this work is being done and at what cost.
*Engineers ran away due to villagers' protest*
When the villagers united over the irregularities in the construction work in the northern hamlet of the village, Deepak Paswan, the junior engineer present in the road construction work, ran away from the work site. The villagers said that the construction of the road was completed after the villagers slept at night.
*Government money is being misused and there is collusion between contractor and engineer*
The villagers said that government money is being misused and misappropriated by the contractors and engineers of the department. Due to lack of quality in the work, the road will soon collapse and government money will be lost in rebuilding the road. Government money is being looted due to lack of quality in work with the connivance of contractors and engineers.
*Villagers demand senior officials to investigate road construction*
The villagers have requested the District Magistrate of West Champaran, Bagaha Sub-Divisional Officer and senior officials to conduct a spot investigation into the irregularities in the road construction so that action can be taken against the irregularities in the construction.

An attempt was made to contact Manish Kumar, Executive Engineer, Rural Works Department, on telephone for information in this regard, but till the time of writing the news, he could not be contacted due to his mobile being switched off.
