New Delhi, 23 April (HS). Veer Kunwar Singh Foundation celebrated the victory anniversary of the great hero of the Indian freedom struggle Veer Kunwar Singh at the Constitution Club in Delhi on Tuesday. Union Minister Ashwani Kumar Choubey, who participated in the program, said that Veer Kunwar Singh was 'Shri Veer' because Kunwar Singh was a leader of the people.
Choubey said that not thousands but lakhs of Indians were martyred in the revolution of 1857. But it is also true that the British were afraid of Kunwar Singh. The British used to get scared just by hearing the rumor of Kunwar Singh. Ashwani Chaubey also remembered revolutionary Mangal Pandey.
On this occasion, President of Veer Kunwar Singh Foundation, Nirmal Kumar Singh said that today the biggest threat to the country is memory loss. This country is becoming an entertainment oriented country. In the era of social media and reels, the memory of the struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors is disappearing. A nation without memory cannot build a solid future.
He said that through Veer Kunwar Singh Vijayotsav, we are also saving the future of the nation by saving new memories of the struggle and sacrifice of the martyrs of 1857, heroes, farmers, farmers' sons and soldiers. Therefore, this event pays tribute to the struggle and sacrifice of all those heroes through the Vijayotsav celebration of Veer Kunwar Singh to inspire the present and future generations.
He said that we believe that the generation which does not respect and protect its culture, its ancestors, gets destroyed. Swami Sarvlokananda of Ramakrishna Mission, IAS Rashmi Singh, litterateur Kumar Narendra Singh, ICCR Director General Kumar Tuhin and Professor Munna Pandey expressed their views in the program.
