Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that this case has been registered against the accused in the Chief Minister's Office on the basis of online complaint lodged by Jeevanjot Singh, resident of village Khokhar, district Gurdaspur. He further said that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that the said Patwari is demanding bribe for making amendments in the revenue records regarding the ownership of his land. The complainant made a recording of the said Patwari demanding bribe, which he handed over to the Vigilance Bureau as evidence.
In this regard, Vigilance Range Amritsar investigated the complaint in which the allegations made by the complainant were found to be true. On the basis of this report, a case has been registered against the said accused in Amritsar Range Police Station of Vigilance Bureau under the Anti-Corruption Act and he has been arrested. He said that further investigation into this matter is going on.
