Rain in Junagadh: Meghraja rain has been falling in Devbhoomi-Dwarka, Porbandar and Junagadh for the last two days. Due to heavy rains in Junagadh, waterlogging is taking place everywhere. Due to heavy rains, the Ojat and Sabri rivers have become furious. In such a situation, after years, a video of the fierce form of the Ojat river has surfaced.
The water level of the Ojat river is rising due to continuous rain. The river water has broken the embankments on the banks and flowed back into the surrounding fields. Thousands of acres of land have been submerged and farmers fear huge losses.
Even now the water level of the Ojat river is continuously rising. The administration has appealed to people to stay at higher altitudes as a precaution. Most of the roads in the district are also closed due to heavy rains.
If we look at the rainfall data in Junagadh district, Keshod taluka has recorded the highest rainfall of 8.5 inches. Apart from this, Vanthali received 7 inches, Mendara received 3.5 inches, Junagadh city and village received 3.5 inches, Malia Hatina received 3 inches, Bhensana received 2.5 inches, Manavadar received 3.5 inches, Mangrol received 1.5 inches. Whereas the lowest rainfall of 11 mm has been recorded in Visavadar taluka.
Due to the torrential rains that started with lightning this morning, waterlogging has occurred in many places in Junagadh district. 75 roads are closed due to rainwater filling the roads. 62 villages in Junagadh district are cut off from the land.
Due to heavy rains, 9 dams in Junagadh district have overflown. 14 routes of ST buses have had to be closed due to waterlogging on the roads. An incident of an eco car driver getting stuck in water has come to light in Malia. The administrative system also appealed to the people not to go out except for work.
