Veteran minister could not even file nomination due to being late by 2 minutes, Congress cut 'leaf'

Maharashtra Elections 2024: The last date for registration of candidates to contest elections in Maharashtra was October 29. However, there was tremendous drama during the nomination for the central seat in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Former Congress leader and former minister Anees Ahmed could not register his candidature due to arriving two minutes late. For which he cited many difficulties, but the officials did not listen to him. It is noteworthy that the nomination process will run from 11 am to 3 pm.

Breaking his four decade old relationship with Congress, Ahmed has joined Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. According to the information, the returning officer did not accept the nomination as the deadline expired at 3 pm. Ahmed's absence from morning till the end was the subject of much speculation.

Former minister gave the reason

Ahmed told officials that he faced difficulties due to vehicular traffic, road closures, safety protocols and last-minute document work. During this he also said that his leg was injured. He said that it took me 2:30 to get NOC, certificate, opening account in nationalized banks.

According to the information, MLA Anish Ahmed said that Muslims and Dalits gave victory to Congress in the Lok Sabha, now they are feeling cheated in ticket distribution. Not only this, he also accused Congress of bias.

Let us tell you that Anish Ahmed joined Prakash Ambedkar's party BVA on Monday. Ahmed got membership of the party in the presence of party president Prakash Ambedkar. During this, Ahmed said that I have represented Nagpur Central seat thrice. Congress failed in social engineering.
