Verdict will come on 19th in the case against five people including MLA Irfan Solanki

Kanpur, March 14 (HS). The court's decision on Thursday against SP MLA from Sisamau assembly seat of Kanpur Irfan Solanki, who is lodged in Maharajganj jail, has been postponed. After the hearing, the MPMLA court has fixed the date of March 19. Irfan's appearance took place through video conferencing. The court has summoned Irfan Solanki for the next appearance. The verdict has been postponed due to lack of bail bond for the two accused. In this case, 18 prosecution witnesses and three defense witnesses were testified. Other evidence was also placed in the court.

Nazir Fatima, a resident of Defense Colony, Jajmau, had filed a report against SP MLA Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan Solanki at Jajmau police station on November 8, 2022. It was said that on November 7, 2022, at 8 pm, his family had gone to his brother's wedding. Then Rizwan Solanki, Irfan Solanki and their associates set my house on fire. As part of their conspiracy, these people always harass us so that we leave our house and take over my plot. The household, fridge, TV, cylinder and other items were destroyed in the fire. Later, during investigation, the police arrested Shaukat, Sharif and Israel Atte Wale, Anoop Yadav, Mehboob Alam, Shamshuddin, Ejazuddin, Mohd. Ejaz, Mursleen Bholu, Shakeel Chikna were also made accused.

District Government Advocate Criminal Dilip Awasthi said that the trial against Irfan, Rizwan, Shaukat, Sharif and Israel Aate Wale has been completed. The court was to give its verdict against these five on Thursday, but due to the two accused being on bail, the court has given the next date as 19th as the bond was not filed. Assistant District Government Advocate Bhaskar Mishra said that the prosecution had presented 18 witnesses in this case.

Irfan's lawyer Saeed Naqvi said that Irfan and Rizwan are completely innocent. The police are only misleading the court, at the time when the arson case took place, Rizwan's location was Lucknow and Irfan was at different places in Kanpur. The police do not have any evidence in this case. Irfan's lawyer also said that Irfan's plot is right next to the plot where the fire took place and who would set fire next to his own house, only the court is being misled.
