The Biden administration has also issued guidelines for meals and snacks for schools. In this, the government has said that it has been found that breakfast in schools generally contains high amount of sugar. Thus, sweet dishes will be limited in breakfast. Schools can continue to offer flavored and unflavored milk options to children. It is necessary to provide milk to children in schools. However, added sugars will be limited in flavored milk served at breakfast and lunch by 2025. Schools will also have to reduce the amount of salt in their food slightly by 2027. There will be more emphasis on fruits, vegetables and grains in the food, so that the balance of healthy, tasty and nutritious food can be maintained in the children's diet.
