Veg thali became more expensive in May! Cheap non-veg dishes | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Vegetarian Thali: Those who prefer vegetarian food are facing a price hike. The average price of a veg thali has increased by 9 per cent in the month of May. The report released on Thursday blames the rise in the prices of onions, tomatoes and potatoes. The monthly 'Roti Bhaat Dar' report of Crisil Market Intelligence and Analysis says that vegetarian thali will become more expensive. However, the reduction in the price of broiler carcasses has reduced the cost of non-vegetarian food.

According to the report included in the veg thali,
In May, the price of vegetarian food increased to Rs 27.8 per plate from Rs 25.5 earlier. Whereas a month ago in April, the price of a vegetarian thali was Rs 27.4. This thali mainly consists of roti, vegetables (onion, tomato and potato), rice, dal, curd and salad.

On the contrary, the price of non-vegetarian thali decreased in May
the price of non-vegetarian thali has come down to Rs 10. 55.9, while in the same period a year ago it was Rs 55.9. 59.9. This is less than the price of Rs 56.3 per plate in April 2024. All other ingredients in the non-vegetarian thali are the same, but instead of lentils there is chicken meat.

according to the report,
The overall increase in the price of vegetarian thali is due to a 39 per cent increase in the price of tomatoes, 41 per cent in the price of potatoes and 43 per cent in the price of onions. According to the Crisil report, 'Onion income declined due to a major reduction in the Rabi crop area and potato income declined due to crop failure in West Bengal, which increased the prices of these vegetables.' Apart from this, the prices of rice and dal have also increased by 13 per cent and 21 per cent respectively. However, the price of vegetarian thali has not seen much increase as the prices of cumin, chilli and vegetable oil have increased by 37 per cent, 25 per cent and eight per cent respectively.
