Vastu Tips for Home: Vastu Shastra works on the balance of directions and by keeping things in that direction in the house, balance of directions is established. For example, if an object is placed in a position opposite to any direction, imbalance occurs.
Having the right things in every direction is a good thing and those things also have a deep impact on weight. If a heavy object is placed on its opposite side, imbalance occurs. Just as a scale has equal weight, it remains balanced, if one scale is heavy, one scale goes up and the other goes down.
No object of any kind should be kept in the east and north direction of your residence, in the north-east corner of the courtyard of the house and in the north-east corner of every room. The more empty and weightless the north-east corner is, the greater will be our prosperity. Money will come and everyone living in that house will be happy. Keeping heavy objects in the north-east corner will create imbalance and hinder happiness, peace and prosperity.
Heavy objects can be kept in South, West and South-West. This will balance the energy of the house and bring prosperity. Nothing should be kept near the east and south-east corner walls. If you are keeping something in this direction, then keep it a little away from the wall.
If heavy objects like safe, sofa, cupboard, chair, table etc. are to be kept permanently then South-South-West or West-South-West is auspicious. Keeping it in this direction does not create Vaastu defects.
Nowadays, having more stuff in the house is considered an indicator of prosperity whereas Vastushastra says that there should not be too many unnecessary and useless stuff in the house. People keep buying things to show off to others without evaluating how much they actually need that thing. The house should be vacant.
