Varanasi, 06 April (HS). Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma took stock of the cleanliness system of the city along with departmental officials on Saturday. During the inspection, the Municipal Commissioner first reached Bakrabad area in Adampur zone. During the inspection of cleanliness system here, the boundary of Bakrabad garbage dump was found broken.
He directed the Chief Engineer to get the boundary repaired immediately. Also directed to transfer the three compactors purchased recently to Varanasi Waste Solution. He said that after using the vehicle, submit a report within three months. City Health Officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar, present on the spot, was directed to eliminate the Bakrabad garbage dump within a week.
The Municipal Commissioner inspected the cleanliness system in Azad Park area of Pilikothi area. During inspection, it was found that C&D waste was lying near the garbage dump, on which he expressed his displeasure at the C&D waste disposal organization. The Municipal Commissioner gave instructions to get it cleaned immediately. Also, the city health officer was directed to destroy the garbage bin located in Azad Park within a week. The Municipal Commissioner inspected the cleanliness system in Machhodari area. A large amount of C&D waste was spilled near the garbage dump here, which was directed to be cleaned immediately, and instructions were also given to destroy the Machhodari garbage dump in the next 15 days.
The Municipal Commissioner inspected the vehicle stand of the Municipal Corporation located at Parade Kothi. During inspection, it was found that many vehicles in the stand were in bad condition. Transport Officer Ajay Saxena was directed that the vehicles which are capable of being manufactured should be immediately made and put into use, and the vehicles which are not capable of being manufactured should be scrapped and disposed of. During the visit, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dushyant Kumar Maurya, City Health Officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar, In-charge Transport Officer Ajay Saxena, Project Manager of Varanasi Waste Solution Anuj Bhati were also present.
