Moradabad, 04 December (HS). In coordination with Sports Directorate, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh Handball Association, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, two semi-final matches of the state level senior women’s handball competition were held on Wednesday at Sonakpur Sports Stadium, Ramganga Vihar, Moradabad. The match was inaugurated by State Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha Priya Aggarwal and Chief Treasurer Renu Boudh who introduced the players. Varanasi won the first semi-final of the competition and Ayodhya won the second semi-final. The final match of the competition will be played between Ayodhya vs Banaras on Thursday at 1 pm.
Regional Insect Officer Naresh Chandra Yadav and Regional Olympic Association Secretary Dr. Ajay Pathak honored the guests by giving them books and mementos. The first semi-final of the competition was played between Varanasi vs Prayagraj. In which Varanasi won 11-5 and made it to the finals. Naina Yadav scored 3 goals, Reshma scored 2 goals and Shivangi, Satakshi, Anantha and Kajal scored one goal each from Varanasi side. Vaishnavi scored the most goals from Prayagraj, 2, Maria and Nidhi scored one goal each.
The second semi-final of the competition was played between Ayodhya vs Basti in which Ayodhya defeated Basti by 27-25. Aradhana scored the most goals from Ayodhya’s side, 09, Rajpati scored 6 and 5 goals. From Basti side, Satakshi scored 10 goals, Sunita scored 07 goals and Rachna scored 3 goals. The final match of the competition will be played between Ayodhya vs Banaras. Judges of the competition: Vejnath Yadav, Nafees Ahmed, Sandeep Rai, Premprakash, Amit Pandey, Suryabhan, Suryapal, Devend Singh, Sudhish Singh, Mohit Sachin, Navneet Singh. Kuldeep Singh, Dheeraj Singh, Asif Siddiqui, Lalita Chauhan, Neha, CL Verma etc. were present on this occasion.
