Van Mahotsav program was inaugurated by planting trees

Firozabad, July 3 (HS). The Van Mahotsav program was inaugurated on Wednesday by planting a sapling by the chief guest MLA Sadar Manish Asija at Sheetla Mata Mandir Asafabad. On this occasion, Mayor Kamini Rathore, Block Pramukh Laxmi Narayan Yadav, District President Rakesh Shankhwar, Akhilesh Kumar Patel, Deputy Divisional Forest Officer Firozabad and Regional Forest Officer Firozabad planted saplings.

In the same series, the Forest Festival was inaugurated by planting a sapling by the Chief Guest B. Prabhakar, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Agra Zone, Agra, at Tiny Tots Inter College, Tundla, under the Tundla Range of the Division. During the Forest Festival program, the Forest Department organized a painting competition, panel discussion on climate change, global warming, and distributed seed balls to school children, in which school children participated enthusiastically.

In the program, plantation work was done on the theme “One tree in the name of mother”. The said program was attended by Vikas Nayak, Divisional Director, Social Forestry Division, Firozabad, Deputy Divisional Forest Officer Firozabad, Regional Forest Officer Tundla and other forest department staff at the Divisional Office Firozabad.

In this sequence, in all the 06 ranges of the forest department, regional forest officers organized Van Mahotsav programs in their respective working areas. Van Mahotsav was organized in Jaydayal Singh Inter College, Nagla Khangar under Sirsaganj range. In the program, the school principal and regional forest officer, Sirsaganj and the staff of the forest department and the school staff organized the Van Mahotsav program by planting saplings.

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, MLA Firozabad Manish Asija and Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Agra Zone, Agra appealed to the general public to plant one sapling each on the theme of “One tree in the name of mother”.
