India’s largest telecom operator Reliance Jio has made a major change in the validity of its affordable data vouchers of Rs 19 and Rs 29. These vouchers are usually used for emergency recharge when the user’s existing data gets exhausted. Now the validity of these vouchers has been limited, which has caused a big shock to the customers.
Rs 19 and Rs 29 data vouchers: new validity
Reliance Jio has made important changes in the validity of Rs 19 and Rs 29 data vouchers.
- Earlier arrangement:
- Rs 19 Voucher: This voucher was valid equal to the validity of the user’s base active plan. For example, if your base plan had a validity of 70 days, this voucher would also be valid for 70 days.
- Rs 29 Voucher: Similarly, this voucher was also active till the validity of the base plan.
- Arrangements now:
- Rs 19 Voucher: Now this voucher will be valid for 1 day only.
- Rs 29 Voucher: Its validity has now been limited to 2 days only.
There was also an increase in the prices of data vouchers
In July 2024, Reliance Jio had increased the prices of its plans.
- The Rs 15 voucher was increased to Rs 19.
- The price of Rs 25 voucher was increased to Rs 29.
However, even after this increase in prices, these vouchers remained popular among customers. But due to the new validity limit, their usefulness to the users may reduce.
Unlimited 5G data for Rs 601: Jio’s annual offer
Jio has introduced a great recharge plan for customers who enjoy 5G data.
- Rs 601 plan:
- This plan provides unlimited 5G data for the entire year.
- But to avail this voucher, the customer must already have a Jio plan that offers 1.5 GB/day or more 4G data.
This plan is a great option for users who want to use high-speed 5G data continuously.

- Small Data Vouchers:
- Vouchers worth Rs 19 and Rs 29 have now become less effective due to lower validity.
- Customers may have to recharge frequently to meet emergency data needs.
- 5G data offers:
- The Rs 601 annual unlimited 5G data plan is an attractive option for high-users.
- But its terms do not make it suitable for every customer.
