Uttarakhand's son martyred in the attack by militants in Manipur, Gunanand was posted in Assam Rifles

Champawat, 12 August (HS). Warrant Officer Gunanand Chaubey posted in Assam Rifles was martyred in a sudden attack by militants in Manipur on Monday morning. The entire region is in mourning remembering his bravery and courage.

Warrant Officer Gunanand Chaubey, son of Haridutt Chaubey, resident of Chaubey village Sui in Lohaghat and posted in Assam Rifles, was martyred in a sudden attack by militants in Manipur on the morning of 12 August. As soon as the news of his martyrdom was received, a wave of mourning spread across the Lohaghat area. The village head said that Gunanand Chaubey was posted as a warrant officer in the 22nd Battalion Assam Rifles in Manipur. Currently his family lives in Delhi. Martyr Gunanand has left behind his wife, two daughters and a son.

The residents of the area have expressed grief on the news of martyrdom of Jawan Gunandan Chaubey. People are reaching the martyr's ancestral home to console his family. The martyr's body is currently kept in the Assam Rifles Camp. The necessary action is being taken by the army. After this, the martyr's body will be handed over to the family for last rites with military honors.
