Dehradun, July 11 (HS). The Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh has announced to march to the Chief Minister's residence over the issue of increasing the age limit in Uttarakhand Police Constable Recruitment and Forest Guard and not issuing advertisements for thousands of posts including UPCL and UGVNL TG-2 recruitment.
Ram Kandwal, Vice President of Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh, said that thousands of unemployed students and their parents from across the state will join the Chief Minister's residence march. He said that when Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was talked to at the Chief Minister's residence two years ago, he had said that the age limit would be increased in view of the interests of the unemployed in the upcoming police constable recruitment, but its government order has not been issued yet. In such a situation, lakhs of young unemployed people of the state have not been able to participate in the police constable recruitment which came after seven years this time too.
He said that police recruitment is held every year in neighbouring states and in states like Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, the youth of the state get a relaxation of three years, but there is no concern for the unemployed of Uttarakhand. Kandwal alleged that the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission has been delaying the release of results for a long time, whereas after the scam was exposed, the same commission was releasing the results within a week. Now why is it taking six months to release the results?
The vice president of the unemployed association said that the commission is not even showing the marks of the candidates after releasing the result. This has created confusion among the youth. Apart from this, the unemployed have demanded that the age limit for the upcoming Forest Guard recruitment in Uttarakhand be increased from 18 to 35 years.
UPCL, Pitkul and UGVNL TG-2 recruitment has not been done for the last seven years
Ram Kandwal said that there has been no recruitment of UPCL, Pitkul and UGVNL TG-2 for the last seven years. He requested the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission to immediately issue advertisements for the requisitions available with them including Junior Assistant, Steno. He warned the Uttarakhand government that if all these demands are not taken cognizance of within a week, then the Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh will once again march to the Chief Minister's residence with thousands of youth.
