Uttarakhand government increased dearness allowance of employees

Dehradun, March 14 (HS). Before the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP government of the state has given 01 rupee salary to the state employees, regular and full-time employees of aided educational and technical educational institutions and urban local bodies, work charged employees and post holders working in the UGC pay scales, to whom the seventh revised pay scale has been allowed. It has been decided to pay dearness allowance at the increased rate from January 2024.

By the order of the Finance Department, dearness allowance at the rate of 46 percent per month has been allowed to the government servants of the state government, who are allowed the seventh revised pay scale, from July 1, 2023.

In the order of Government of India's letter No. 1/1/2024-E-11 (B) dated March 12, 2024, regular and full-time employees of state employees, aided educational and technical educational institutions and urban local bodies, work charged employees and UGC pay scales. The present rate of dearness allowance admissible in the basic pay has been increased from 46 percent to 50 percent per month from January 1, 2024, subject to pre-determined conditions and restrictions, for the post holders working in the Central Government, who have been allowed the seventh revised pay scale.

According to the order issued by Finance Department Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, it will not automatically apply to High Court judges, Chairman and members of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and employees of public undertakings etc. A separate order will be required to be issued by the concerned departments regarding them.

According to the order issued by the Finance Department on Thursday, the arrears of revised dearness allowance to the employees from January 1, 2024 to February 29, 2024 will be paid in cash. From March 01, 2024, dearness allowance will be paid along with regular salary. The pension contribution of the employees covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme and the same amount along with the employer's share will be deposited in the account related to the new pension scheme and the remaining amount will be paid in cash. Subject to the above mentioned conditions and previously mentioned conditions and restrictions, the above approved dearness allowance will also be admissible to All India Service officers working under the state of Uttarakhand.
