Uttar Pradesh received an average rainfall of 16.9 mm in 24 hours

Lucknow, 03 July (HS). In Uttar Pradesh, an average of 16.9 mm rainfall has occurred within 24 hours, which is 296.5 percent as compared to the normal rainfall of 5.7 mm. Thus, the average rainfall in the state from 1 June to 02 July was 102.8 mm. Which is 91.4 percent as compared to the normal rainfall of 112.5 mm.

Relief Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh GS Naveen Kumar while informing about the rain situation said that at present all the embankments of the state are safe, there is no worrying situation anywhere.

In the last 24 hours, 13 districts of the state (Bijnor, Maharajganj, Bareilly, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shahjahanpur, Basti, Badaun, Moradabad, Rampur, Gorakhpur, Barabanki, Ballia and Pilibhit) have recorded 30 mm or more rainfall. No river in the state is flowing above the danger level. Five people have lost their lives in 24 hours. District magistrates have been instructed to provide immediate relief amount to the families of the deceased.

The Relief Commissioner informed that at present no district of the state is affected by floods. One motorboat, one team each of NDRF, SDRF and PAC are currently working for search and rescue in Moradabad district affected by rain in the state.
