Uttar Pradesh has received the maximum amount under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan. Grant of Rs 740 crore

Under Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, Uttar Pradesh will get approximately Rs. Rs 740 crore is the highest grant sanctioned in the country. The grant amount will be used to enhance the quality of research in universities of UP, promote innovation and renovate dilapidated buildings of old institutions. The grant will be used to improve the quality of higher educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh by ensuring adherence to prescribed parameters and standards.

Will provide financial assistance to higher education institutions in the states

Under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan Yojana, grants are provided to new government model colleges in deprived areas to identify minimum Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER). The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to higher education institutions in the states to ensure equitable development of all.

Subsidy use of digital education methods in Uttar Pradesh

The plan is to increase the gross enrollment ratio (GER) to 35 percent by the end of 2026. The grant will be used for development of infrastructure for digital learning methods in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative also aims to provide various higher education opportunities to socially deprived communities in the state. The allocated grant will be used for enrollment of women, members of minority communities as well as SC/ST/OBC in higher education institutions of the state.

Six of the 26 universities are in Uttar Pradesh

Under the Multidisciplinary Education and Research University (MERU), grants have been provided to six universities of Uttar Pradesh out of 26 selected universities across the country. Apart from this, Rs 19,99,99,000 to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, Prof. of Prayagraj. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University has received Rs 19,99,97,000, Jannayak Chandrashekhar University in Ballia has received Rs 13,38,900 and Siddharth University in Kapilvastu has received Rs. 6,53,11,262 were received.
