An Indian citizen who came to America illegally has died in Atlanta. Federal officials said the deceased would be extradited to India. The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Jaspal Singh. According to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department, the Indian Consulate in New York has been informed of Jaspal Singh's death. Besides, the family members of the deceased have also been informed.

Jaspal Singh attempted to enter the United States illegally on June 29, 2003, but was apprehended by authorities at the US–Mexico border. He was arrested for illegal entry into the United States. Following his arrest, he was handed over to Atlanta's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). He was kept in a detention center in Atlanta.
