American administered lethal doses of insulin for three years in an attempt to kill several patients. The convicted nurse was sentenced to 380-760 years in prison on Saturday. The court was told that he was responsible for the deaths of at least 17 patients in five health facilities between 2020 and 2023. Presdi was accused of giving too much insulin to 22 patients, some of whom were not diabetic. Most patients died at or shortly after dosing. The age of the victims was 43 to 104 years.
The investigation started in May last year
The nurse was accused of murdering two patients in early May last year and a subsequent police investigation led to several other charges against Presdi. In the past, colleagues have criticized her behavior, saying that she looks down on her patients and often makes inappropriate comments about them.
Killer nurse told mother to harm patients
In text messages to his mother, Presdi described his unhappiness with patients, coworkers, and people he met at restaurants. She also often talked about hurting him. During the hearing, he declared himself guilty in the court. When one of Presidi's lawyers asked why he pleaded guilty? To which the President replied, “Because I'm guilty.” Presdi worked in several nursing homes from 2018 to 2023, when his license was suspended following the initial allegations.
