Jammu, July 14 (HS). MP Ghulam Ali Khatana has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to extend the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Saubhagya schemes to the remaining remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir. These schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aim to provide safe drinking water and universal household electrification.
Khatana highlighted the need for coverage in areas like Gulabgarh in Reasi, Marwah Sub Division in Kishtwar and parts of Ramban, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch. He emphasised the importance of these schemes for improving the quality of life of the residents and appreciated the mass outreach programme of Lt Governor Sinha, stressing the need for immediate action.
The MP's appeal is in line with the Central government's vision of inclusive development and aims to achieve 100 per cent coverage of infrastructure across the Union Territory.
