Lucknow, 04 August (HS). Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma said that the holy month of Sawan is going on and national festivals and religious festivals are coming up, in view of this, all the bodies will pay special attention to better cleanliness, sanitation, street lighting, water supply, drainage and sanitation survey etc. in their areas. All the bodies should organize cultural programs on National Festival, Har Ghar Tiranga Program, Shaheedon Ko Naman, Kakori Diwas from 09 to 15 August in Amrit Sarovars, parks, vending zones etc. and make the citizens aware about cleanliness and plastic free body. He directed all the executive officers to stay in the headquarters area of their body for better management of the bodies and said that only after evaluating the work of the officers, they should be appointed in good bodies or given additional charge.
On Sunday, Mr. Sharma was virtually reviewing the works of all bodies through D Triple C Live Monitoring. During this, he took stock of the situation by virtually interacting with officials of bodies like Ballia, Bulandshahr, Shamli, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Hathras, Chitrakoot, Golabazar, Golagokarnath, Bahraich, Barabanki, Hardoi, Unnao, Basti, Deoria, Ballia, Etawah, Shamli, Kannauj, Sitapur, Mirzapur, Barhalganj, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow etc. and gave important instructions for the management of the bodies.
A.K. Sharma directed that along with making better arrangements for cleanliness around Kavad Yatra routes, religious places, Shivalayas and major temples, the roads and lanes of these areas should be clean and pothole-free, there should be lighting on the roads, arrangement for pure drinking water. There should be cleanliness of community, public and pink toilets and arrangement for mobile toilets etc., dustbins should be kept so that garbage does not spread here and there. Garbage should be lifted regularly and taken to MRF center and attention will be given to garbage management by doing source segregation. There should be better disposal of the material coming out from the places of worship or also try to make incense sticks, dhoop deep, havan samagri etc. from it.
The Urban Development Minister said that it is the rainy season and all the bodies should make better arrangements for water drainage, pumping stations, jet pumps and pumping sets should be in working condition, there should be no water logging, attention will be paid to the cleaning of drains and sewers. To prevent communicable diseases in the rainy season and to prevent the spread of mosquito and fly borne diseases, dengue, malaria, chikungunya etc., spray anti-larvae medicine. Efforts should also be made to clean the flood affected areas and prevent diseases.
He said that all the bodies should make citizens aware about cleanliness, get cleanliness slogans written, run plastic liberation campaigns, also make people aware not to use plastic. Sewer and gutter water should not fill the residential areas, sewer water should not mix with water supply, attention will also be paid to sewer cleaning.
Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat said that all the bodies should work with full dedication in increasing civic amenities, any kind of laxity will not be tolerated in this. Take the help of modern technology to do the work in a better way, get the work monitored with drones. Make such arrangements that there are accident-free programs during festivals. The bodies have to make ODF Plus Plus. A total of 771 waste to vendor parks have been made in the bodies, cultural programs should be organized in these parks with the participation of local people during the national festival. Get a coffee table book of the work done. Keep the IEC team also active for monitoring.
