Ghaziabad, 05 August (HS). Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is now busy in preparations for Raksha Bandhan. The department does not want to leave any stone unturned to make the journey of sisters to their brothers easy. That is why UPSRTC has started cleaning the buses after reserving them. At the same time, it has also written a letter to the traffic police to deal with the possible jam during the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
200 buses have been reserved to make the journey of sisters easier in Ghaziabad region. Buses will be operated from a total of eight bus depots in Ghaziabad. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, drivers and conductors of the Transport Corporation will be allowed to go on leave only under special circumstances.
Shiv Balak, Assistant Regional Manager of UPSRTC Kaushambi Depot, claims that sisters will not face any problem in getting buses on Raksha Bandhan. Special arrangements have been made to run 200 additional buses in Ghaziabad region for Raksha Bandhan. The trips of buses going towards Hapur, Gajraula, Moradabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Meerut will be increased.
The Assistant Regional Manager said that a letter has been sent to the traffic police to avoid traffic jams on Raksha Bandhan. It has been requested in the letter that adequate traffic arrangements should be made to deal with the traffic jams at Model Town, Chhijarsi, Vijaynagar, Lalkuan, Mohannagar, Meerut Tiraha, Muradnagar and Modinagar as well as Hapur turn on NH-9, so that sisters do not have to face traffic jams while reaching their brothers. According to ARM, free travel facility is provided to sisters on Raksha Bandhan, although no order has come from the headquarters regarding this yet, but it is expected that an order may come soon regarding this.
