UPSC FIR filed after Pooja Khedkar was found to have cheated in the exam 12 times

Mumbai: Trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, who is embroiled in several controversies including misuse of non-criminal level and issuance of wrong medical certificate, has filed an FIR against Pooja Khedkar after UPSC revealed that she was cheating. She appeared in the exam illegally by changing several documents including her identity. It is known that Pooja attempted the UPSC exam 12 times. Apart from this, a show cause notice has also been issued to explain why her candidature from the Civil Services Examination 2022 should not be canceled and why she should not be blacklisted for future examination or recruitment to the post. Based on the complaint of UPSC, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has started an investigation against Pooja.

The biggest allegation against Pooja is that she repeatedly appeared in the UPSC exam by changing her name, parents' name, photo, signature, email ID, mobile number, address etc. It is known that she appeared for the exam a total of 12 times.

According to the statement of Delhi Police, UPSC has received a complaint against Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar for giving wrong information about her identity and giving the exam in more attempts than allowed. An investigation has been started against her under the relevant sections and the Crime Branch has taken over the investigation.

An official statement issued by the UPSC on Friday said that the UPSC has conducted a detailed and in-depth investigation into the alleged misconduct of Pooja Khedkar. According to the investigation, the UPSC said that she had taken advantage of the fraud by hiding her identity by changing her name, photo/signature, email ID, mobile number, address etc. and appeared in the exam. Therefore, the UPSC has lodged a police complaint against her. Apart from this, a 'show cause notice' has also been sent to cancel her candidature. It was said.

Pooja took the UPSC exam in 2022. After passing out in 2023, she was made an IAS candidate and allotted the cadre of her home state Maharashtra. She was posted as a probationary IAS officer in Pune, Maharashtra.

During his training at the Collector's Office in Pune district, he misused his position and privileges by demanding special facilities even though he was not entitled to them. Apart from this, he harassed his subordinates by demanding quarters, car, staff etc. despite not having the qualifications and even usurped the post of Deputy Collector.

. Pooja was transferred to Washim in Vidarbha region after the Pune district collector complained to the state chief secretary about her misbehaviour.

UPSC, which conducts the IAS exam, said that UPSC is performing its constitutional duty and follows the procedure as per the Constitution and examines the details without any exemption.

After several allegations against Pooja Khedkar surfaced, the Central Government constituted a one-member inquiry committee on July 11. This committee has been asked to submit its report within two weeks.

UPSC records revealed that Pooja Khedkar secured 821st rank in the civil services exam 2022 in the OBC category as a person with multiple disabilities.

The provision of reservation of four per cent of the total seats in government recruitment/department is under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Candidates under Disability, OBC (Non Creamy Layer) get the benefit of age relaxation and self-fillable vacancies.
